'Oh, Shoot, That's My Brother': Sophie Turner Didn't Hold Back While Explaining Just How Uncomfortable She And Kit Harington Were Playing Lovers

However, I can't quite get over the fact that the Game of Thrones cast members are going to be playing lovers. It turns out, they hilariously couldn't either, as the Sansa Stark actress recalled just how uncomfortable she and the Jon Snow actor were filming their intimate scenes together. Sophie Turner spent the better part of her time on Late Night with Seth Meyers discussing various uncomfortable filming situations she's been in. While promoting her project on the 2025 movie schedule, Trust, she talked about working with rats and cockroaches. However, she also got real about the weirdness of making out with your former on-screen brother. Here's how her story about how this ended up happening in the first place began: I just got the script for an amazing gothic horror called The Dreadful. And I was reading through all the characters, and I'm producing it. So, the director was asking me 'Who do you think?' And immediately the first person I thought of was Kit. Well, that's really sweet. I love that the first person she wanted to work with was a fellow Stark, because any Game of Thrones reunion is a good one. However, things got weird when Turner and Harington realized that their relationship in this new movie would be totally different than the one they had on the HBO show. Explaining that realization, Turner said: And so I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back like 'Yeah, I'd love to, but this is going to be really fucking weird, Soph.' And I was like, 'What is he talking about?' And then I was reading it, and I'm like kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex, and I'm like 'Oh, shoot, that's my brother.' Listen, I realize that in the Game of Thrones universe, being in a romantic relationship with your brother or niece is not necessarily unusual. However, it's also never not weird. Plus, the Stark siblings – i.e., Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Rickon and Jon – never participated in the incest. Plus, with GOT being one of HBO's shows that got the world talking, it's admittedly hard to separate the actors from their characters. So, all that considered, yeah, it's weird that Sansa and Jon's actors are playing lovers. I love that they found it odd, too. In fact, it was so weird for them, Turner claimed that they were both 'retching' when they had to lock lips on set: But it's such a good script that he was like, 'We kind of have to do it.' So, then we put it out of our minds. And then we get on set, and it's the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career. On top of this, earlier in the interview, she spoke about how 'foul' it was to work with cockroaches and rats on the same day for a different movie. She called that the 'worst day of my career.' However, a few minutes later, when they talked about The Dreadful, and Meyers asked if playing lovers with her GOT co-star was worse than the cockroaches, the actress said: Yeah. It was. The fact that Turner and Harington were willing to work through the weirdness of playing lovers after playing siblings for years tells me that they're committed to this movie. So, you better believe I'm going to go see it. If they have confidence in it, I'll be thrilled to watch it, even if it means I have to work really, really hard to get over the fact that they played iconic siblings on Game of Thrones.

'Game of Thrones 'siblings Sophie Turner and Kit Harington were 'retching' after shooting movie kiss scene: 'It was vile'
The pair are set to play lovers in the upcoming gothic horror, "The Dreadful." After years of starring as half-siblings for eight seasons of Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington were both seriously grossed out playing lovers in their upcoming gothic horror film, The Dreadful. The actress, who played the Queen of the North Sansa Stark on the hit HBO fantasy series, explained on Thursday's episode of Late Night that both she and Harington, who starred as Jon Snow, felt sick to their stomaches after shooting their first kiss scene together for the film. 'We get on set and it's the first kissing scene and we are both retching,' Turner revealed. 'Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career.' Written and directed by Natasha Kermani, The Dreadful follows outsider Anne (Turner) as her life is turned upside down after the arrival of a mysterious man from her past. Turner, who also serves as a producer on the film, explained earlier in the interview that she knew right away that Harington was the perfect person to play Anne's lover Jago — but hadn't exactly realized what their characters' romance would require of them. 'I just got this script for this amazing Gothic horror called The Dreadful and I was reading through all the characters and I'm producing it so the director was asking me, 'Who do you think?'' She recalled. 'And immediately the first person I thought of was Kit.' So, naturally, she sent the script Harington's way and received an interested, but slightly hesitant, response in return. 'He kind of sent me a message back going like, 'Yeah, I'd love to, but this is going to be really f---ing weird, Soph,'' Turner recalled. 'And I was like, 'What is he talking about?' And then I was reading it and I'm like, kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex, and then I'm like, 'Oh, shoot, that's my brother.'' In the end, the pair decided that it was 'such a good script' that they couldn't let the idea of having to play lovers throw them off. She added, 'He was like, 'We kind of have to do it.'' That didn't make the reality of having to actually kiss one another any easier, though. When asked by host Seth Meyers if kissing Harington was worse than being covered in real-life cockroaches for her new film Trust, Turner admitted, "Yeah. Yeah, it was. Sophie Turner found it 'weird' having Kit Harington play her lover
Sophie Turner found it "weird" to play Kit Harington's lover in a movie. The pair - who first starred together as half-siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow in eight seasons of Game of Thrones between 2019 and 2019 - have showcased a very different relationship in upcoming gothic horror film The Dreadful, and the 29-year-old actress admitted it was bizarre having to get up close and personal with her good friend. Speaking in a video interview with Vogue, she said: "I did a movie last year which I'm really excited about with my old but very good friend Kit Harington, who played my brother on Game of Thrones. "We're doing a gothic horror… but we play lovers." Sophie then grimaced as she apologised to viewers. She said: "Sorry, guys. It's really weird for all of us." Game of Thrones featured incestuous relationships and Sophie had previously teased "things could happen" between Sansa and Jon, particularly after his true parentage was revealed, but she admitted she would find it awkward. Speaking in 2016, she told Access Hollywood: "Things could happen, things couldn't happen. They are cousins and it is Game of Thrones. "I could not do that with Kit. There's no way I could do those kind of scenes with Kit— I'd laugh way too much." Despite finding it "weird" playing lovers in The Dreadful, which is set in the 15th century during the War of the Roses, Sophie previously admitted she pushed producers to cast Kit, 38, opposite her. She told the Sunday Times newspaper: "They were trying to find someone for that role, and I was like, 'You can't not have Kit.' "It's set around the time of the Wars of the Roses, so we'll probably be floating about in robes on clifftops again." Sophie - who has Willa, four, and three-year-old Delphine with ex-husband Joe Jonas - previously joked she "got [her] sex education" from Game of Thrones. During an appearance on the Dish podcast, she quipped: "I definitely got my sex education from that show. More than enough." Sophie also likened her castmates to family members. She explained: "I never had proper formal training, so I got to learn from the amazing actors around me, which I felt like I won a competition. But it was great. We all were a family. "My character, I got to live with. So it felt like we kind of merged into one person by the end of it. But it was amazing." Sophie admits that the show "informed [her] entire life in terms of like business decisions, just etiquette on set, how to act". She added: "Everything I learned from Game of Thrones — and a bit from my parents."
